BCT PRESENTS 'THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY'

Where will Flat Stanley travel next? Boston Children's Theatre (BCT) will take audiences on a wild coast to coast, overseas journey in their magical family production of THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEYrunning March 7 - 15, 2015 at the Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont Street in Boston.

"One of the most popular characters in children's books, Flat Stanley has become a hero to so many young students," said BCT Executive Artistic Director Burgess Clark. "With this production we are encouraging theater goers to let their imaginations soar, just as Flat Stanley does as he travels all over the world in search of adventure and fun. We hope audience members will bring their own Flat Stanleys to the theater to experience this live stage performance together!"

 

After wishing on a star, young Stanley Lambchop finds himself in a very unique situation. He has been transformed into a very, very flat little boy- Flat Stanley! With the help of the postal service, his family and friends, Flat Stanley travels the world in search of adventure! Taking audiences from Hollywood to Paris to Hawaii and back, THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY is filled with infectious songs, memorable characters and exotic locales.

 

Directed by Toby Schine, BCT Executive Director, co-directed by Eric Love and musical direction by Jaime Castellanos, THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY is based on the book Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown with book by Timothy Allen McDonald and music and lyrics by Timothy Allen McDonald, David Weinstein, Jonathan K. Waller and Stephen Gabriel.   The production features a cast of 13 young actors including Boston student Jonah Yennis as 'Napoleon'; Cambridge student Maxwell Seelig as 'Stanley'; Lynnfield student Lane Snover as 'Mrs. Cartero'; Medfield student Julia Perry in the 'Ensemble'; Medford student Molly Fenn as 'Mrs. Lambchop'; Quincy students Alexander Cox as 'Mr. Lambchop' and Jennifer Small as 'Samantha'; Tyngsboro students Cameron Perrin and Taylor O'Connell in the 'Ensemble'; Waltham student Cashmere Moore as 'Hollywood Agent'; Wayland student Sophie Stowell in the 'Ensemble'; and Wellesleystudents Alex Hudepohl and Patricia Plunkett in the 'Ensemble.'

 

THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY will be performed at the Calderwood Pavilion, 527 Tremont Street, Boston, MA. Performances are March 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 2 pm. Grandparents Packages are also available that include 2 tickets to the show, a special souvenir and a photo with the cast. School matinee performances are also on sale through the BCT Box Office.
