On Monday, June 15, 2015, Braintree After School Enrichment (B.A.S.E.) will hold its tenth annual golf tournament and raffle to raise money in our campaign to continue enriching children before and after school. The mission of the program, from inception, has always been to implement comprehensive and inclusive programs to children ages 2.9-13. We bring children to B.A.S.E. after they are released from school each day and they do homework, participate in various enriching activities and have a safe place to be until their parents get out of work.
The Braintree After School Enrichment program was founded as a non-profit 501 ( c ) (3) agency in August 1985 by my mother, Roselyn Karll. B.A.S.E. also operates before school programs in each of the seven elementary schools in the town from 7:00 A.M. to 8:45 A.M, a private full day kindergarten and a preschool program.
The program has been steadily growing since its’ opening. We now operate out of our Pond Street location which houses our preschool program through 3rd grade and out of the Hollis Elementary School for the older children in grade 4-8. This program’s mission is to meet the emotional and social needs of this age group. It will do so through community service programs in nursing homes, senior centers, and the local rehabilitation hospital.
The entire program serves many different children. Children with special needs, children at risk, children with disabilities, etc.

The money raised from this year’s tournament will be used for our long awaited addition and to continue to fund a scholarship give to a Braintree High School senior who will be studying Early Childhood Education in college.
