Nomsly is the NEW way to make lunch!

By Sponsored Article Content June 27, 2017

There is a new business right her in Dorchester that helps you with the dreaded lunchtime drama with the kids! Nomsly was founded by Chris Buck and Andrew Macaulay after the two of them were commiserating over the challenges of healthy eating. This was very easy to set up. A few questions and looking through the choices for the week (the lunches change each week so check back every week) and you are ready to order.

We chose the sunbutter sandwich, wagon wheel pasta with veggies, turkey wrap and chicken with wild rice. All come with a main course, vegetable & fruit. My picky eater absolutely loved all these lunches. The lunches he ate on Friday were as fresh as the lunches he ate on Monday. I think the best part was that my son could grab what he wanted when he was hungry and eat a nutritious meal. My kids love fruits and veggies so this was the perfect fit!

Once you chose your lunches they get to work! All orders are delivered with your mail on Saturday. They are packaged in ice packs to keep them cold in the delivery service. All allegens are clearly marked in the ordering process as well as the packaging that your lunches come in. They source their food through the same local distributors your favorite Boston-area restaurants get their ingredients from. They also purchase local in-season ingredients, especially fruits and veggies, from local farms in the Boston area. These include the Revision Urban Farm in Dorchester and Ferjulian’s in Hudson.

This service can be suspended or cancelled at any time. They do not take Paypal but do accept credit cards. Emails keep you up to date on the status of your order all week. It's great to know when to expect your order so that you can be home and bring it inside and place in the refrigerator.

The lunch packaging is made from PET, the most commonly recycled plastic (code “1”) and is recyclable via your normal recycling stream. The ice packs are made from LDPE with a non-toxic gel that’s >99% water with a small amount of the same gelling polymer used in disposable diapers, hair gel, and potting soil. You can empty the gel in the trash and put the empty pack in your recycling (code “4”). The boxes can be recycled via your normal cardboard recycling stream. The liners are made from recycled textiles and can be separated into the plastic exterior for recycling and the textile interior for industrial composting. You can, of course, also save the ice packs and boxes for some other use. Lastly, once you have four weeks of liners you can also ship them back to us for reuse or composting by dropping us a note and asking for a return shipping label!

Note: We were given a week of lunches for the purpose of this review. All opinions and thoughts expressed are my own.
