This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to go check out the Ultimate Hot Wheels Drive Thru at Gillette Stadium and it did not disappoint! My friend and I decided to make an afternoon adventure out of it and then grab dinner at Patriot Place. We took our boys, Travis (10) and Ryan (11) and thankfully it turned out to be a beautiful day so we put the windows down to enjoy some cool cars and monster trucks!
We made it to Gillette right around 3:45pm, there was just about a 20 min wait to get up to the ticket booth, but we were prepared knowing we were visiting during peak hours! At the front booth, they scan your ticket (paper or digital), give you your free three pack of Hot Wheels cars, and have you pull over if you purchased any concession items. We did not, so we were on our way! They also give you a QR code to scan and when you do, it pulls up a playlist you can listen to for each section of the Drive Thru. I would definitely recommend doing this - it had some interesting facts and kept everyone engaged!
Although you could see everything from the right lane, you were up close and personal with the cars and trucks much more in the left lane. Our kids were comparing horsepower facts & if they they had each monster truck in their personal collection. Their favorites were of course "Rumble Bus" and "Megasaurus". It was super fun to see all the different details on each truck. Plus this is one of the first outdoor events we have been to in almost a year. It was so nice spending time with close friends & family safely!

Towards the end of the drive thru, there is a place to pull over in case you need to use the bathroom (porta-potties with sanitizing stations). When you hop back into the drive thru line there are still a few trucks to see before exiting! We had SO MUCH FUN and would totally do it again!
Here are some tips for your visit:
- Get there early. I have friends that went earlier in the day, and they had no wait time at all.
- Download the soundtracks when you get the QR Code. Pair your phone with the car, so you can follow along with the prompts.
- Stay to the left! You will get more close up views of the cars and trucks.
- Don't worry about printing your ticket, they can be scanned from your smartphone.
- Bring snacks. Because, when do kids ever not want snacks? 🤨
- Be prepared with some games/cards etc. There was some distance between trucks, so playing "I Spy" or 20 Questions while you wait can help keep your children engaged!
